My biggest concern about young Christians being indoctrinated by secularized schools, however, is not that they will become atheists. My biggest concern is that they will become dualists. A dualist is one who reads the Bible, prays, goes to church on Sunday, and yet doesn’t make any significant connection between God’s Word and what goes on in the Monday through Friday workplace because they think “faith” is a personal, private matter while the workplace is public and therefore “secular.” [Christian Overman, The Lost Purpose for Learning]
Christian Overman is a fine voice for the integration of faith and work, and he’s passionate about teaching a proper theology of work to the next generation. His free, short e-book The Lost Purpose for Learning succinctly explains the issue and how we restore extraordinary meaning to learning. I recommend clicking below to read it.
